This lens is best explained by its extreme sharpness wide open. It was released about 3 to 4 years ago and it is the starting point of Leica’s current lens lineup.
Using the sharpness of focused area, the picture can be this surrealistic. Without the smooth bokeh in the front and back, this is impossible.
The softness of chubby hands is realized nicely. The front bokeh is very plain.

This one was also shot wide open. Even though it’s about 10m to the subject in focus, it gets blurry both in front and behind, realizing the special atmosphere of the situation. (the boy was begging for sweets, but his request seemed to be rejected)

The performance of this lens reminds me of the Planar 45mm F2 for the CONTAX G series or the Planar 55mm F1.2 for the CONTAX SLR cameras. Oh, I shouldn’t forget the NOCTILIX-M 50/0.95 ASPH., too. They are all legendary lenses.

I shot wide open because there was a distance. I have no complaints as I can get this result even wide open. Great job in capturing the atmosphere.
