I walked to the Shinbashi side of the Corridor street and went to the French bar, "VAPEUR." The counter bar is open to the street and always crowded. If there's no seat, then you can strand at the wine barrel outside. Their main food is tapas and it's like a Spanish bar. They have a variety of tapas and wines. Their steamed food, which is also their name, is beautiful and tasty. I walked from Yurakucho and I was thirsty, so I ordered a chilled sparkling wine. Soon I ordered some tapas and wine following their recommendations. It's nothing but luxurious to spend time tasting delicious food and the wines that match the food.

"VAPEUR"
1F, Tokyo Koosokudooro Nishidobashi Building, 8-3, Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo
Phone: 03-3571-8878

* It's located next to Ginza Nishi Postal Office

The cook, Mr. Fujioka, happily talks about food once I sit at the counter. I'm amazed how briskly he cooks. "What one likes, one will do well." As a customer, I feel great when my food is prepared by someone who loves cooking.
If you want to enjoy wines casually at VAPEUR, do it at the cash-on-delivery open counter. They have a variety of sparkling, white, and red wines, You don't have to know much about wines because they will always answer your questions. Take this opportunity to try something you haven't tried before.

If you want to drink in a quiet atmosphere, go inside to the counter that is invisible from outside. At the counter, they have dining menu and dinner courses. The photo on the right shows their unique steamer. Their name VAPEUR means steam, by the way.

"Vapeur of seasonal vegetables"
The steamed vegetables look beautiful and colorful. The dish comes with the piping hot bagna cauda sauce, but even without it, you can enjoy the rich taste of the steamed vegetables because the steam condenses their umami (flavor).

"Steamed hoya (sea squirt) from Miyagi"
There must be many people who don't like hoya because of its peculiar smell, but steam just picks the best of hoya by eliminating the smell and condensing the umami. This is completely different from the ordinary hoya and I strongly recommend it.

"Homemade pâté de Campagne"
This is a country style pâté. You can enjoy the meat texture. The lever flavor is nicely suppressed and it tastes great with a red wine.
