The last report ended like a misfire. The bicycle is in operation every day and loved by my family.
And now, I finally bought my second lens. As I declared last time, it's the Voigtlander NOKTON CLASSIC 35mm F1.4. I wish I could also get the shade, but it's out of stock. It should be fine without it, but I wanted that look. Anyway, new lenses always make me happy, so I went out for shooting.

I do like the unique falloff wide open, but the outside of the focus point gets spinning bokeh. How about this background of the cat? Depending on the distance, sharpness changes nicely or questionably. By using a lens like this, I found how excellent the Summarit 50mm F2.5 is. The NOKTON 35mm F1.4 is definitely a unique lens and such lens tend to have some weak points, too. Still, I gather the appeal is something that can't be quantified by numbers.

Stopping down eliminates falloff and expands focus area, although the corners still lack of fine depiction. I guess this guy is stubborn. But, it still takes nice photos and it may be good to shoot something retro.

It's been 6 months since I started using my Leica. I'm still a young bird, but I noticed something.
I have to focus, set aperture and ISO sensitivity, and compose all by myself. This requires some energy for each shutter and sometimes it's even tiresome. But because of that, each shutter weighs more. The weight of an AF camera's shutter can be measured by grams, while the one of a Leica's should be measured by kilograms. And, I can say this weight corresponds to the weight of heart.

Maybe because I'm forced to take the steps until I fire the shutter, the probability to get the best moment is raised, I think. In this way, I keep shooting meaningful shots and I hear the footsteps of my future shutter that weights 1 ton.

This is my personal theory. One of the prime powers for human civilization is our joy of achieving something difficult.
In other words, I wonder if using a Leica makes a person grow. This must be why Leica users are drawn into the Leica world!!!
I got a little excited, but I'm not lying. Anyway, I feel I'm mastering it as I keep using it.

For next time, I'm thinking of using an old lens. I'm so excited to test these soldiers and fugitives who survived the war. Let's not think about the cost for now.

OK, I have to go for another assignment. If man will not work, he shall not shoot! :p
