Again, it's been a while since I posted the last report, but that's doesn't mean I had forgotten about it. First of all, I'd like to thank those who came to see my exhibition "the Sun, the Soil, the People." I really feel bad that I couldn't be there to speak with you. When I was surrounded by my photos, I felt like I'm talking with me in the past and it was an interesting experience. If I have another chance to hold my second exhibition, I will set a theme and shoot imagining my prints hung on the wall. Anyway, I'm glad I could have my exhibition because I learned so many things that I could never notice without putting it into practice.

To tell the truth, as you can see from my exhibition, I love photographing people, particularly children. So, I wanted shoot children with my Leica. But, they never stay calm and I don't like to ask them to stand still because it's unnatural. So, I waited until I can get them in focus and the Summarit 50mm let me keep a nice distance. (All the models are children in my neighborhood.)

By the way, when I was about to finish paying all installments for the Leica double loan (the Leica M-E body and the Summarit 50mm), the editorial crew started to display their lenses and asked me what kind of lens I want next... It's this environment that is the most problematic. Anyway, I borrowed the Voigtlander NOKTON CLASSIC 35mm and 40mm. They are far more affordable than the Leica lenses and reportedly take great pictures. So, I went out to take some snapshots of my neighborhood.

Falloff is dramatic when shot wide open. I don't really know how to describe, but the depiction looks a little bleeding and I don't know if it's a good thing or not. As I keep shooting, I realized that this lens captures the wet air of the atmosphere. This is what people call a unique lens and the greatest pleasure is to utilizing the uniqueness. The barrels are compact and they even look nicer with the shades. Since I already have the 50mm, so the 35mm would make a better partner. OK, I'll buy this lens.

Now, how do I persuade the commissioner of finance? I thought about a variety of excuses on my way home and finally I consulted with her. And, the result is...

This is the result. She said, "My waist pain is getting worse, so I need to buy an electric-assisted bicycle first! (The next lens? Out of question! You already have one, don't you?)" Just as you say. In order to maintain a happy home, I shouldn't be the only one who spends. So, we bought this electric-assisted bicycle and again, we're paying by installments.

So, maybe next time, I can show you my M-E with the Nokton 35mm and the sample shots. This is all for now. (cont.)
