"I shoot people like children and old ladies because I think they are lovely. Isn't it amazing? I shot them with the type A. This one, and this one, too."

Her photos naturally captured daily scenes that touched her heartstrings.

She says that she used to be too busy, but she is now working at her own pace so that she can play each role carefully.

"Once I concentrate on acting in the theater or in the movie, I cannot think anything else. So, my free time in between is an important time for charging myself."

Most people feel uneasy when they are out of work for a long time, but she doesn't. She intends to take a long break to return to "Shiho Takano," and then she becomes ready for the next job. It may be this free time that fills her photos with peaceful daily lives.

She becomes a passionate actress on the stage and a casual ordinary person off the stage, and they are both "Shiho Takano." I'm sure she will keep making her utmost efforts from now on as well while retaining her natural personality.

I wonder how she plays Norma Desmond again in 10 or 20 years if there's a chance. Anyway, we will support her future.

Our interview went well in a relaxed mood thanks to her smile and casual attitude. With her variety of facial expressions and emotional reactions, she makes no walls and becomes friends with anyone. Once she started talking about playing, her eyes were shining. As for Leica, she didn't seem to care much about it. Lens? Body? Forget such nonsense. And, can you believe she shoots films because she "doesn't have a computer"?

*The show "Pygmalion" starring Shiho Takano will begin on August 19 and ends on September 4, 2011. Don't miss it!
