In Seattle, we have the rainy season between October and April. The average number of raining days is about 150, so it may be 3 times as that of Tokyo. But, it drizzles rather than rains, so the rainfall is two-thirds of Tokyo and we rarely have torrential rain. We have more sunshine between July and September, and on Midsummer Day, it's bright between around 5PM and 10PM.

Right now, morning sun is getting brighter and it changes everything into a beautiful picture like a kaleidoscope. And, the awakened body is completely reset, and it's ready to start a new day.

The grass and trees have been saving energy since winter and they start to grow in April. Then in May and June, the ground is completely covered by green. When the temperature starts to rise, this are is filled with the cocktail of the scents and their essence reach to the corners of the heart.

And now, the temperature becomes high around 24°C, and I want to go to the place where I can enjoy this shining season.

I drove to the east for a short distance and climb the grass hill. There I found wild flowers blooming everywhere. They bloom only when they want to and fly seeds to expand their territory. In a few years, this area will be covered with yellow and purple colors without a gap.

The wide farm will be busy in harvesting green lawns in a month. Although it was sunny until just a few minutes ago, it started to spot. The weather is unstable possibly because it's too early for the real summer. The young grass seems to be happy with the rain because they know they can grow more. And, few minutes later, the shower started to cover the grass.

When I look at the downtown Bellevue located in the opposite side of Lake Washington, I see this kind of cloud often. Soft clouds are stuck between the long lines of large clouds. I think I can get a good sleep if I'm stuck in such a spot. Today, the lake surface has rough waves because of the strong wind, so I didn't' find any yachts sailing leisurely.

Around the town, red cedars, Japanese aspen and poplars make rows everywhere and the small streams going through the forest and grass fields composed a Northwestern view. When I stay in the calm place blocked by trees, I find myself I'm talking a deep breath forgetting the ties of obligation and feeling relaxed.

When I want to spend my personal time after working, I stop by here often. The wind blowing over Lake Sammamish brings some cool air and I already don't feel hot even though I stepped to the sunny place. Spending time aimlessly being surrounded by the lakeshore air, I remember things I don't remember usually and they disappear from my mind again.

In the evening, water taxis and ferries carry people hurrying home to West Seattle and other dotted islands ahead of the bay. This is an ordinary scene of Seattle.
