Since it has the name “MACRO-ELMAR”, we tend to focus only on its macro photography performance, but it’s a handy lens thanks to its sole collapsible mechanism. Although a telephoto lens clearly adds variation of expressions, photographers don’t carry it in their bag in most cases. The MACRO-ELMAR, however, meets the sudden need to get closer to the subject or pull the subject. The word MACRO sounds like a close up specialist and hence the performance at infinity isn’t expected. However, it doesn’t get close to the life-size, and because of that, the performance from close up to infinity is guaranteed. It has impressive bokeh and reminds me of the Elmar 65mm for the VISOFLEX system (of course, the picture quality of the MACRO-EMLAR is far more modern). I don’t need to explain to the people who are reading this article, but it lets you take macro photography by attaching an “eyeglass,” a close-focus adapter that optimizes the view in the viewfinder.
