I almost bent backward when I look at the first shot on the LCD. What a resolution. Large aperture lenses have their own values, but darker Leica lenses have always been great for a long time. And again, this was true for modern lenses. Of course, modern brighter lenses do perform excellent wide open, but once I see the output of this lens, I feel the power of an extra room for lens design. The superstition of large aperture does exist, but the swamp is deeper than you think because there’re many ambushes around it. It’s sharp across the entire frame. There’re some falloffs wide open, but they are gone once stopped down 1 to 2 f-stops. Distortion is so minimal that you can shoot straight lines without hesitation. The compact barrel is also nice.
